This section brings together a set of infographics on Transitional Justice, which have been produced in the Transitional Justice Research Clinic (TJRC).

Among others, the graphics focus on conceptual models of Transitional Justice and different institutional understandings (e.g. UN, AU, EU), or visualize aspects of the current justice and truth-seeking processes in the Arab world.

This infographic summarizes the proposed components of Transitional Justice by the UN, as outlined in the Guidance Note of the Secretary-General on the United Nations Approach to Transitional Justice.

The Guidance Note of the Secretary-General on the United Nations Approach to Transitional Justice was issued on 10 March 2010 by the UN Secretary-General. The Guidance Note was developed by the Rule of Law Coordination and Resource Group, with the leadership of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), and supported by the Rule of Law Unit in the Executive Office of the Secretary-General.

This infographic summarizes the proposed components of Transitional Justice by the AU, as outlined in the Panel of the Wise Report on the African Union Draft Transitional Justice Policy Framework.

The Panel of the Wise Report on the African Union Draft Transitional Justice Policy Framework was issued in February 2013 by the AU Commission. The Report was developed in collaboration with the International Peace Institute.

Infographic: The Principle of Positive Complementarity in the ICC

Positive Complementarity Feb 3This infographic shows how the International Criminal Court’s principle of positive complementarity works in theory, as explained by the Office of the Prosecutor’s “Prosecutorial Strategy, 2009-2012.”  The ICC is meant to catalyze domestic forms of accountability so that the ‘impunity gap’ between high and low-level perpetrators can be filled – like connecting two pieces of a puzzle.
